First you will need a laundry soaker – a gentle one. Use mild detergent with the fragrance of your choice. The best material you can use is what you use for your carpet. You would need a nail brush, a bucket, a drop sheet, a step ladder and a bath tub.

Remove the vertical blades; make sure that they are bunched together. After that, adjust them into open position and remove them from the tracking system making sure that they are bunched perfectly together. One you are done removing all of the blades, fold them without causing any creases.

Go to your bath and prepare the tub so you can soak your vertical blinds. Make sure that you use cold water because hot water will damage the fabric of your cheap vertical blinds. Pour ¼ cup of your gentle cleanser (please do not use bleach), pour an ample amount of carpet cleaner or any type of household detergent and then stir so that all the solutions are evenly distributed in the water.

After that, you can put your cheap vertical blinds. With this solution, you can clean up to 4 sets of vertical blinds to save on the detergent and the water. Let the blinds soak. The longer the vertical blinds soak in the solution, the better the results. See? It is that easy. But what is the nail brush for? Well, if your cheap vertical blinds have stains, you can use it to brush those stains off.

While your vertical blinds are soaking, clean its tracking system by using the same solution you have used for your blinds. Use a spray bottle so it is easier to apply. After spraying, wipe off the solution with a clean cloth. Make sure you place your drop towel on the window sill and on your floor though because you would not want excess water to be dripping to your tiles or your carpet.

After that, rinse your vertical blinds and then remove the excess water by holding them over your bucket. Once dry, put them back in the blinds’ hanger starting from the end carrier to the front. Now that is pretty easy!
